Introducing FILAMENT, Zinc’s Teen Literary Journal
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of Filament, Zinc Learning Labs’ literary journal. Filament is a place for teen writers and artists to connect and get their voices heard. The journal promotes literacy by sharing exceptional student writing on the topics you want to read about, from the voices you want to hear. Issues also feature outstanding visual art by teens.
Want to get published and be part of the movement to get the whole world to fall in love with reading? If so, below are details on how students can submit to Filament.
Writers, we’re looking for standout poetry, fiction, nonfiction, or memoir that leaves us thinking for days. We want writing from the heart, with an independent voice and compelling subject matter. And of course, we’re seeking pieces that wow us with purposeful imagery and structure, and a strong narrative arc or argument.
Artists, we’re looking for evocative images that tell a powerful visual story. We want meaningful artwork that moves us and brings a new perspective to how we see the world. And of course, pieces that show commitment to craft and purposeful stylistic choices.
