How It Works

A simple, fast path to free licenses:

Step 1: Enroll

  • Register for Zinc’s on-demand teacher training series (completely free).

Step 2: Complete Three Modules

  • Each module about 20 minutes and can be completed at your own pace.

Step 3: Unlock Student Licenses

  • Once you finish all three modules, you’ll complete a short survey to request Zinc Explorer licenses for your students. (1–2 teachers per school are eligible).

    • Guide students to apply Zinc’s reading-strategy skills

    • Support strategic reading in any classroom

    • Improve comprehension by connecting with the writer’s meaning

  • See how Zinc fits into your daily instruction. You’ll learn how to:

    • Integrate Zinc into your class routines

    • Use assignments, reports, and pacing tools

    • Differentiate for a wide range of readers

    • Implement quick-start activities

    • Yes; secondary ELA teachers are eligible. We offer 1–2 teachers per school free Zinc Explorer student licenses after completing the three modules.

    • About 60 minutes total.

    • Each module takes ~20 minutes and can be done at your own pace.

    • You’ll gain strategies, tips, and resources to help you build a culture of motivated, engaged readers. 

    • You’ll also receive Zinc Explorer student licenses for your classroom, access to teacher reports, and Zinc’s complete set of reading strategy lessons.

    • Once you finish all three modules and provide information about the number of Zinc Explorer licenses you’ll need, Zinc will email you within five business days.

    • Yes. All modules are asynchronous and on-demand.

    • As you complete modules, your work will be saved if you need to come back later to complete the training
